«Plague of Rats» is the new album by the German power metal band Brainstorm, marking the band's long-awaited return after a four-year hiatus. The album continues the tradition of exploring Indian themes, first touched upon in «Soul Temptation» (2003), and showcases the band’s signature blend of powerful rhythms, virtuosic guitar work, and dynamic vocal lines.

Special attention goes to the guest appearances: on the track «Your Soul That Lingers In Me,» Elina Siirala from Leaves’ Eyes perfectly complements lead singer Andy B. Franck, while Alex Krull adds contrast with his harsh vocal parts on «From Hell.» Producer Seeb Levermann managed to capture the live energy of their concerts in the studio recording, and the cover artwork, created by artist Gyula Havanczák, highlights Brainstorm's distinctive style.
