“ Eight years after the release of The Forty Five, the Scottish band Cnoc An Tursa return with A Cry For The Slain - an atmospheric tribute to the history, myths, and spirit of Scotland. Once again, the group combines fierce black metal with folk influences, crafting songs filled with sorrow, mysticism, pride, and resistance.

The musicians explain that they wanted to return to their roots - making the sound more guitar-driven while once again emphasizing folk elements both musically and lyrically. This approach helped the band reach a new creative level.

The album is rich with imagery from Scottish folklore: the banshee foretelling death, the winter goddess Cailleach, the bloodthirsty spirits known as Baobhan Sith, and the legendary «Big Grey Man» of the Cairngorm Mountains. A special highlight is the track Alba In My Heart - an emotional declaration of love for Scotland.
